Uriah Heep – In The Court of the Wenton King Playlist

We’ve banged our heads together and come up with this.  It was a bit of a struggle getting the album into the 45 minute area but we think this is a really good playlist.  If you’re not sure about Uriah Heep, give this a go.

Demons and Wizards

Demons and Wizards by Uriah Heep

Demons and Wizards the breakout Uriah Heep album!  Apparently this was very well received apparently.  Even Rolling Stone magazine liked it, not that, that means too much.  But really, a few personnel changes, a bucket load of sales and that could mean one thing – the sell out album!  Or is it?

  1.  The Wizard – Mark Clarke, Ken Hensley
  2. Traveller in Time – Mick Box, David Byron, Lee Kerslake
  3. Easy Livin’ – Ken Hensley
  4. Poet’s Justice – Mick Box, Ken Hensley, Lee Kerslake
  5. Circle of Hands – Ken Hensley
  6. Rainbow Demon – Ken Hensley
  7. All My Life – Mick Box, Ken Hensley, Lee Kerslake

Look At Yourself

Look At Yourself by Uriah Heep.

Look At Yourself

More Uriah Heep!  Yay.  Probably the worlds worst cover ever.  We reviewed Salisbury last time with pretty good results.  Will Look At Yourself be a winner?  Maybe…

Look At Yourself is Uriah Heeps third album (1971) and is widely regarded by people who know, to be a really good album.  This should be good considering the many noteworthy things on Salisbury.  Did they refine their sound, or did they lose their way?

  1.  Look At Yourself – Ken Hensley
  2. I Wanna Be Free – Ken Hensley
  3. July Morning – David Byron, Ken Hensley
  4. Tears In My Eyes – Ken Hensley
  5. Shadows Of Grief – David Byron, Ken Hensley
  6. What Should Be Done – Ken Hensely
  7. Love Machine – Mick Box, David Byron, Ken Hensley

Salisbury by Uriah Heep.  In the Court of the Wenton King Review

That’s enough G ‘n R for a lifetime.  Back to the 70’s for Uriah Heep with their second album – Salisbury. Hopefully we’ll have something more interesting to talk about other than overly long albums, screeching vocals and other eschatological rock issues.
Track Listing:

1.  High Priestess

2.  The Park

3. Time to Live

4.  Lady in Black

5.  High Priestess

Chinese Democracy by G 'n R

Chinese Democracy By Guns ‘n Roses. An In The Court of the Wenton King Review

Chinese Democracy by G ‘n R

More Guns ‘n Roses.  How did we ever get to the point where we’ve reviewed about 300 minutes of Guns ‘n Roses after vowing never to review any of it?  But here it is, Chinese Democracy – more waffle and intriguing insight into W. Axl Rose and what made G ‘n R so bloomin good (sort of).

We may have made a mistake last week in reviewing Use Your Illusion I and II in a single episode as it turned into a behemoth twenty five minuter.  This week we have half a Use Your Illusion and something that may be intriguing – the return of Guns ‘n Roses.  Now if only I can get my free can of Dr. Pepper…

  1. Chinese Democracy – Rose/Freese/Tobias/Stinson/Reed/Finck/Costanzo/Caudieux
  2. Shackler’s Revenge – Rose/Finck/Carroll/Costanzo/Mantia/Scaturro
  3. Better – Rose/Finck
  4. Street of Dreams – Rose/Finck/Reed/Stinson/Tobias
  5. If the World – Rose/Pitman
  6. There Was a Time – Rose/Tobias/Reed/Stinson
  7. Catcher in the Rye – Rose/Stinson/Reed/Finck/Tobias

  9. Riad N’ the Bedouins – Rose/Finck/Reed/Stinson/Tobias
  10. Sorry – Rose/Carroll/Mantia/Scaturro
